This is how to make an FPV long range flight... and what can go wrong.
Problem #1: Dragonlink. The Dragonlink was spewing interference on my 1.3GHz video which is what caused the video scrambling and those horizontal lines in the video.
Problem #2: Wind shift - When I had Jeremiah turn the plane around, We got into a high head wind that wasn't present at launch. We dove out of it, but it took us some time to figure out what was happening with the OSD.
Problem #3 - Damaged airframe. The elevons fatigued and one failed causing me to fly with only 1 functional servo.
Admittedly, this was not supposed to be the video we would use for this tutorial, but after all the problems we had, we decided that it is a great learning tool. Even the pros have problems from time to time.
A little background: We were looking for a friend's crashed airplane for ~10 minutes and then decided to go for a run above the clouds after not finding it. We were going for altitude not distance. If you listen to our dialog, you will hear this. The launch was staged. We shot that part after the plane had already crashed.
