The SWMAC go on a road-trip with their RC planes (part 2)

We finally made it to the 436 RC plane fun-fly in Taupo after a bit of a road-trip and here's what we found.
Lots and lots of RC planes but most of them were pretty "old school" with glow (nitro) motors and long-wire radios. Only a handfull of electric models and the fastest planes there were our AXN Floaters.
The first thing Ron and I did was get told off for standing in the wrong place while flying and not having observers (uh-oh).
Still, we had a good look around but by lunch-time it started to rain so we packed up and came home for a coffee and a chat.
It was a great meeting -- if old-school is your thing but we much prefer flying at our own field. Lots of terribly nice people there - but not a lot of adrenaline flowing I'm afraid.
As our youngest member (Helen) put it "We've been here for two hours and nobody [apart from us] has laughed yet" -- sums it up!
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
And what the hell is a "circuit"? We don't have them at our field!
