While the MacBook Pro has advantages like a far superior Retina display with a high resolution of 2560 x 1600 with IPS technology for amazing viewing angles and color reproduction as well as significantly faster processors and GPU's, the MacBook Air is noticeably lighter than the MacBook Pro and offers better battery life.
MacBook Pro Advantages:

- 8GB of RAM for better multitasking
- dedicated HDMI port as well as 2 Thunderbolt ports
MacBook Air advantages:
