The Bathurst race track was originally built as a Tourist road and is still a Public Road on non-race days. Anyone can drive the track keeping to the current speed limits and road laws. If you are in the area definitely get on it.
Lap record is 1:59.2910. I managed a plus 9 minute lap. Views are spectacular.
The Dipper can really be appreciated by driving the track.
Bathurst is a fantastic location for a long weekend getaway with Mayfield gardens, great restaurants and many other attractions.
