Flysight Falcon FG01 goggles: In-depth review & "Blind Test" - BEST FOR LESS

2018 looks like a very promising year for FPV goggles. Up until recently, the new entries from Skyzone, Topsky and Eachine left a lot to be expected. Now Fatshark, Aomway and Flysight are putting some interesting propositions on the table.
Flysight is not new to the "game" and has had its fair share of FPV products in the past. Their new Falcon FG01 goggles seem to do many things right, while keeping the price at a fair level.
The goggles have nice and crisp 16:9 screens that are switchable to 4:3, a built-in DVR with a conveniently placed microSD card slot, both a fan and an ON/OFF button for it also built-into the casing, Analogue IN/OUT and HDMI IN interfaces, as well as an earphone jack. They come in a well made carrying case with an additional pouch inside and include a 18650 battery case with an ON/OFF button, power and A/V cables.
The biggest downside of the Falcon FG01 goggles is the fact that the IPD range is adjusted simultaneously for both eyes. In my case, I cannot fine tune the lenses exactly as I want them to be so I have a bit of blurred edges on one screen. If the IPD does not fit your eyes, this is a big deal breaker.
I also find the fitment uncomfortable around the nose, although others have found it to be just fine.
Its direct competitor is the Dominator V3 from Fatshark, which is still very relevant and used by many pilots. The FG01 was unanimously better in terms of image/screens. The IPD adjustment that controls both lens assemblies is definitely a wrong choice though.
