Chris Wolfe's (me!) Jet Hangar Hobbies () Mirage IIIRS competition scale EDF. It is painted to represent "Black 10" of the Swiss Air Force in the color scheme worn when the Mirage IIIRS aircraft were retired from Swiss AF service. The eagle crest on the rear fuselage represents the squadron insignia, the eye on the underside is "the eye in the sky" (as these airplanes were called in the Swiss AF) and the colors themselves (dark over light) are symbolic of the black and white pictures these recon airplanes took.
The Mirage IIIRS conversion was completely scratch built along with all of the details present on the airplane. The landing gear are custom RC Crafters struts with added details to increase the realism. I competed with this jet at the 2013 Scale Masters Championships placing 4th in Expert finishing with a 98.75 static score and average flight scores of 92.9. I love how it flies!
The power system is as follows:
EDF: JHH E-Turbax
Motor: Neu 1521/2Y (780 Kv)
ESC: Castle Creations 160 HV Lite
Battery: 12s NeuEnergy 6,200 mah Lithium Polymer
Weight: 15.5 lb
