[HOW TO] DRONE REGISTRATION - FAA - DRONE REGISTRY COST

Hello and welcome to my drone registration video! In this video, I'll go over the FAA registration process and some of the things you'll need to obtain this new drone license. The cost is $5 but will be refunded in full if the remote controlled aircraft is registered before Jan 20th, 2016. If you received a drone for Christmas over the holidays, you'll need to register before you fly outside. Only drones that weigh within the range of .55 to 55 lbs will need registration. The weight of the drone comes into play for registration most likely due to the fact that drones can do significant damage when falling from the sky. The lighter 'toy drones' are somewhat harmless. If the drone is used for commercial purposes or in other countries, a different paper registration will be required.
Some say that it's only a matter of time until drone regulation becomes part of the hobby, and that time has come. Since flying drones can be a hazard, its probably a good idea to do something in the name of safety. The FAA drone registry will become public information, and some people are concerned with this.
