With launch set for 2016, Final Fantasy 15 is a way off yet, but there's no stopping the makers of the game teasing us with snippets of story, like this most recent foreshadowy trailer. So what's going on in the trailer? Why all the hugging? Who's this dog? We asked director Hajime Tabata.
The dog is an important messenger, says Tabata-san, and the menanced little girl Luna is Final Fantasy 15's female lead 15 years before the game begins. The extended father-son hug, on the other hand, foreshadows protagonist Noctis' weighty destiny.
What does it all mean? It's a long wait until the late 2016 release date when we find out, but there's at least the updated version of the chunky Final Fantasy 15 demo Episode Duscae to tide you over.
There's no specific release date for Final Fantasy 15 yet, but expect it in late 2016, when it comes out on Xbox One and PS4.
