FPV - Flying over gorgeous Brazilian coast!
Collection of my FPV adventures in 2009 and 2010 around the Northeast (Ceará) and Southeast (Rio de Janeiro) of Brazil.
The image quality and stability are embarassing low compared to today standarts, but these were home made systems a few years before the drone revolution we are living today, so please watch this as a historical perspective.
There were no drone regulatory rules at that time, and people were extremely curious, open and friendly when they saw those foam RC airplanes. I miss that part.
There were no consumer drones either, no home 3D print, nor sports cameras (such as the GoPro Hero, which came a little later). I had to start by striping down compact digital cameras, keeping only their lens/sensor/circuit to make them flyable wraped in tape. I ruined a few. I don't miss this part at all.
Various planes and cameras were used on this collection, but mainly the EasyStar, Easyglider and Skywalker, with adapted compact cameras such as Panasonic Lumix TZ series, Aiptek HD1, Jazz178 and finally the Gopro Hero 1.
