In this video I review the TBS ZeroZero - a next generation CCD boardcam by Team Blacksheep (). Among other features, it promises a latency of less than 1ms (!), which we put to the test on our bench.
This is the camera which comes with the new TBS Vendetta.
The TBS ZeroZero is available from Team Blacksheep:

Please note that since my android tablet (my "clock") has a maximum temporal resolution of 30hz, that means it will only show a new ms value every 33ms. So the maximum measurement error given my hobby equipment is 33ms which means that what this test can reliably say is that the ZeroZero definitely has a latency of less than 33ms - glass to glass. I'm now investigating means to get a higher resolution clock. A propeller spinning at a precise RPM rate could work as a high resolution clock. Or maybe a digital clock where the screen has a refresh rate of more than 30 fps. Researching this is fascinating by itself, if you have some inputs on this, please share them in the comments :-).
I plan to implement a clock using an Arduino and a LED display. The Arduino works at 16MHz and the LED display (not LCD, those are slow) should be able to update itself at leass than 1ms as well. That should provide me with a clock with true millisecond precision. I believe this should work good as well, and I'm eager to try this out.
