Sorry if this video sounds a bit weird. I had added some music but the video got slammed by a copyright claim and so I used YouTube's Beta Music Removal Tool to remove the song. As a result some of the original sound got messed up but at least you can still watch the video. I have to say that the removal tool worked pretty good.
I thought it might be interesting to stick a Mobius under the QAV500 FPV Quad to watch the Zenmuse do its thing. I was pretty impressed by the video quality of the Mobius. The el cheapo HK vibration damping mount I rigged up to hang the camera from the frame worked well, especially considering that it is attached to the “dirty plate” of the quad.
As you’ll see in the video, the QAV 500 is so smooth that the gimbal didn’t have to do too much so at the end of the flight, I slammed the sticks as hard and as fast as they would go. Although you see a little reaction from the gimbal, the abuse I put it to is nothing like what you’d see on a real flight. An impressive piece of kit.
I originally had the Mobius mounted further back on the frame and it offered a better view. My battery lead/connection got in the way however and I was too lazy to redo it so I just moved the camera forward. As it is, the Mobius is now exactly on the CG so it worked out very well. It might be fun to turn the Mobius around so it faces rearward during flight...maybe not.
Here is a link to the $4.00 mount I got from HobbyKing. It seems to work fine.
