At Computex 2015 in Taipei Intel officially announced Thunderbolt 3. Instead of using a Mini DisplayPort connector like previous generations, Thunderbolt 3 is based on the new USB Type-C standard. In addition to the USB Type-C features such as reversibility Thunderbolt 3 adds a bandwidth of 40Gb/s, the ability to connect 2 4K displays at 60Hz to one port and to deliver up to 100w of power. Other features include the ability to easily connect external graphic cards and more.
