Patriotism and development | Bankole Cardoso | TEDxJabi

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Patriotism is what makes a nation great and also unifies them.
26-year old Bankole Cardoso is the Managing Director and founder of Eaxy Taxi Nigeria. Cardoso was born and raised in Lagos before attending Boston College where he studied Business Management, majoring in accounting.
He started his career at Price WaterhouseCoopers in New York City where he became certified and then moved on to the Carlyle Group in New York. After studying and working abroad for 12 years, he had a burning desire to move back home permanently to pursue an entrepreneurial endeavor where he could also make an impact in Nigeria.
Bankole is an entrepreneur vast in the areas of transportation and consumer Internet. Prior to Easy Taxi he worked in the Global Market Strategies group of The Carlyle Group in New York. He also worked as a Senior Associate at PWC where he was certified as a Public Accountant (CPA).
Bankole was recently featured on CNN Africa Start-Up, WhootAfrica.com, 234finance.com, onobello.com, super hero series on blcompere.com, bizwatchnigeria.ng, Ventures-africa.com, amongst others.
Bankole is also a firm believer in corporate social responsibility and since the inception of Easy Taxi Nigeria in September 2013; he has been able to put a smile on the faces of people from different works of life.
Bankole with the help of the Easy Taxi staff and well-meaning Nigerians raised funds for Baby Kehinde Adebuyi, an 8 month old female infant diagnosed with bronchopneumonia, congenital heart disease with congestive heart failure when she was three months old. The operation was successful.
He also took out time of his busy schedule to show appreciation to Easy Taxi fans by having a program tagged A Night with Banky W.
He also put a smile on the faces of corp members at the NYSC Lagos Camp. Easy Taxi sponsored the SAED day and gave out gifts, souvenirs, free voucher and rides to the corp members.
He also has interest in encouraging startup companies and attends such events and product launch. He has sponsored events like Iroko TV start up grind, Nigeria Next Top Fashion Designer amongst others.
Bankole has a passion for development and is driven by the potential to create high impact companies in emerging economies that inspire people around him.
Bankole Cardoso is the only child of Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh. The doctor who spotted Ebola patient and help contain it in Nigeria.
