Edmunds Senior Reviews Editor Mark Takahashi had the opportunity to drive the all-new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE around Texas. He already considered the previous-generation GLE a solid choice in the class, so Mark posed the question, "How much better is this new one?" In his estimation, the 2020 GLE 450 with the optional E-Active Body Control is a game-changer. Check out the video to see why.
Q: How much will the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE cost?
A: Prices will start at $54,695 for the GLE 350. Adding Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel drive will cost an additional $2,500. Stepping up to the GLE 450 will cost $62,145.
Q: When does the GLE go on sale?
A: The GLE 350 4Matic and GLE 450 4Matic will go on sale in the spring of 2019. The GLE 350 (non-4Matic) will be available in the summer.
Q: Which one should I get?
A: If you can swing the added cost, the GLE 450 with the optional E-Active Body Control suspension is Mark's pick.
Q: What's the deal with the E-Active suspension?
A: This active suspension leans the GLE into the curves similar to how a motorcyclist leans in. It reduces the sensation of cornering and body roll for a more comfortable ride. As Mark says, "It's trippy!"
