Where did everybody go? Oh that’s right, none of them could handle The Bearded Man’s ridiculous, face-shattering sax solo. With the force of a thousand tornados, The Bearded Man poured his heart and soul into that tiny saxophone, producing a sound so gargantuan that they say it could be heard from three towns over as clear as a bell. Literally millions of people heard his solo that day, all without the benefit of a single amplifier or speaker system to aid his sound. The fragile reed nearly cracked under the pressure, as the metal horn expanded outwards, going far beyond the limits of its capacity. Children and the elderly ran for their lives, covering their ears in a feeble attempt to not go instantly deaf. All the town’s windows were shattered in one colossal burst of air. It’s said that when The Bearded Man finally finished playing, there were 20 minutes of silence followed by a standing ovation that lasted for 3 days straight. He had just invented jazz. His record would stand until many years later, when Vijay & Sofia Zlatko & Otter Berry released this song.
