The Alpha 2.3 update adds a new ship model to the hangar - the massive Starfarer tanker which the developers have made available to all players so they can tour it. The other major change is that the Xi'An Karthu Scout is now flyable so you can shoot other players or have it stolen when you park it.
There's bug fixes and a couple of new handguns, but the ships are what I'm most interested in.
