I must admit that compared to the price it has been a ton of fun testing and running!
And no! This is not a tracked version of the WPL B-1 or a Fayee Fy100! Apart from the body and tracks, it has very little in common with these trucks.
Unlike many of the other 1/16 RC Military Trucks, this one is built like a "real" RC crawler, with a dual MOA (motors on axles) system and a flexible spring suspension. The design is very reminiscent of many of the other MOA rock crawlers out on the market today.
They might not look just as 'scale' and 'real', but these MOA vehicles can easily outperform many of our other trucks, like the WPL Military Trucks and the Tamiya CC-01, when it comes to rock crawling, hill climbing or any type of off road running in grass and dirt.
The non-proportional throttle and steering as well as the loud steering mechanism might turn down the fun a bit, but it's all part of the deal, keeping the costs down.
As a bonus, this one actually comes with a 7.2v battery, compared to the 6v. batteries as seen on the WPL B-1, B-24 and some of the other Military Trucks I've reviewed and tested here. So plenty of power. On the downside, I haven't noticed any part supply on this one. Compared to the WPL and JJRC trucks the body of the Zegan ZGC1231WS has a few more imperfections from the molding process, and it doesn't have real functional head lights like the others. But it costs less too.
I am not sure whether this can be regarded as a 1/12th or a 1/16th scale truck. The body certainly have the same size as the WPL B-1, but, with the tracks, it measures 40 cm in length. Banggood specifies it as a 1/12th Scale.
