R220 Evo - FPV Racing Drone
I've finally been able to capture enough flight video to do the product vid for the R220 Evo!
It did involve strapping the XiaoMi Yi camera to the top plate so the tilt wasn't quite as much as I'd wanted - apologies then for the grass.
The R220 Evo is an evolution of the original R220 Mini H frame. It is designed to be a 3S spec racer for 5 inch props, although it can handle 4S just fine.
Space is pretty tight inside and the parts list is pretty specific. The recommended components are:
- 21mm cased FPV camera with bracket (such as the Turnigy IC120-SHS)
- HK FT952 200mw 5.8ghz VTx
- FRSky D4R-II receiver
- Multistar 1400mah 3S/4S LiPo
- 2204/2300 motors
- 20A ESCs
Dry weight is 118g for the full frame but it can be stripped back to 85g if necessary. The AUW for the full frame and 3S battery is 498g. That increases to 546g if you add a Mobius type HD camera.
