CES 2017 was awesome! This was my first year and I was able to see a TON of cool new tech, and meet a LOT of cool people! (Huge shoutout to Luke Lafreniere from Linus Tech Tips for the dinner party :)
Major tech trends and cool stuff I saw:
-Lots of 3D printers, large and small, super expensive to "more affordable"
-A TON of VR (virtual reality, simple phone goggles, HTC vive, etc) and AR (augmented reality), not too common, but slowly getting better
-Massive large screens, lots of OLED, 8K TV's and monitors
-Smart Home Tech is booming, from camera bulbs and floodlights, smart doorbells, locks, motion sensors, pan/tilt/360 cameras, electronic blinds, air vents, thermostats, and so much more
-A TON of camera gimbals: for actions cameras and smartphones. Lot of different mount options available; chest, helmet, etc
-YI just launched their new 4K+ action camera, features 4K at 60fps (first action cam to offer this), plus EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) at 4K 30fps (it used to need to be stopped down to 2K)
-Robots everywhere for almost every reason: Sphero for education, bots for hospitality, video conference calls.. that's where I saw Dan from What's Inside and Jared Mecham from "Ellie + Jared".
