Releasing Baby Turtles
We made our way to Pneloya beach about 30 minutes west of Leon on the pacific Ocean. It was one of the most beautiful, large and untouched beaches we have ever been to. Absolutely stunning and epic. There is only one hostel on 10 miles of beach called surfing turtle that doubles as a hatchery and helps nurse and release baby turtles int the ocean. They also buy turtle eggs from poachers and raise them. Turtle season is in December through January. We happened to do a semi traditional cacao ceremony while there.
