I was initially surprised by how nicely this little Genesis console plays. The 2.8 inch screen is sharp and fast, the controls are responsive, and you can even load in your own rom files via SD card if the 40 included Sega and Capcom titles aren't enough.
And then I heard the sound.. It's horribly wretched.. Not even remotely accurate to the original console. Which is a shame given how nice the overall experience is.
It's incredibly disappointing that a company would go through the effort to license the console and games but not take the time to ensure that gameplay experience is accurate to the original. I'm also disappointed in Sega for not protecting their brand better with this licensed product and requiring AT Games to fix the audio.
So if you can put up with the sound issues I suppose it's not so bad of a deal. But for me I'd rather spend a little more and get something like the GCW Zero that has more accurate emulation and supports additional consoles.
