I'm sure the iPhone has blown everyones cover at one time or another by flashing banners of your personal text right on your lock screen with a confirming alert. It just so happens your at your grandmas and taking out the trash for her. The text reveals details from your girlfriend or boyfriend with "what they want to do to you when you get home" and grandma had the pleasure to read it and ask you what it meant. (considering it didn't kill grandma)
Keep your text messages private by turning them off in your notification center. Also turn off "show in lock screen".
Your iPhone contains just about everything about you. Your photos, friends, bank accounts, PMs, work emails, browser history, in-going calls, etc! Turn off your simple 4 number password and make your password a little harder to begin to guess. You can also have all your info deleted after 10 times of incorrect attempts.
And last but not least, your voicemail can be reached from any number really. Either a cell phone or a house line can call your number and hear your voicemails. All they need once again is your 4 digit password.
Well to stop this you can have your calls forwarded to Google Voice. Google Voice is free with your email account. Then when someone calls, it will ring your phone, but no VM's will be left on your carriers voicemail. Then you can call your google voice number and enter another 4 digit code to check at a later time. Google voice also has the ability to send you a transcribed text of what the message said, and they will even send you a text or email.
