48" SPAD Combat Plane - "Yardwaste"

It will soon be time for aerial combat and this video takes a look at Danny's 48" SPAD (Simple Plastic Airplane Design) made out of scraps of Coroplast sign material, a chunk of plastic gutter pipe, a piece of wood for the wing spar, a few staples or screws, a few cheap standard sized servos and some Gorilla Glue.
Bolt on an old OS 46 FX like Danny's (or anything that runs) and you're good to go.
Danny's SPAD, known far and wide as "Yardwaste", is a combat veteran and has seen several seasons of combat.
No rudder required just the elevator and ailerons and you're ready to rumble.
Most people wouldn't believe that this loveable butt ugly plane can fly as well as it does, especially when you consider what it's made out of.
There are several combat SPAD's under construction at our little club as we speak. I'm going to break tradition and go with an electric version. I only hope I can get it to fly as well as Danny's! A Power 60 on 6s should do it!!! (Heh-heh)
If you want to build a great flying plane for a very small investment (even less if you do a little dumpster diving) take a look at SPADs.

Have the beverage of your choice on hand because it's easy to kill a few hours if you Google "Spad RC Planes".
