Today I received a DJI Phantom 4 Plus from Skyboss drones for a thorough review over the next couple of weeks. Today I do a complete walkthrough of the Phantom 4 Pro +. Great impression overall. the drone is of course exactly the same as the Phantom 4 Pro (non-Plus) with the only addition being the screen that is attached to the controller, and what a screen it looks to be. Very bright, very responsive and just the right size in my opinion.
The screen on the Phantom 4 Pro + is a 1000nit screen that is essentially a stripped down Android tablet. It has some pre-installed apps in addition to the DJI app including Instagram, Facebook and others. I am assuming these are there so you can share you photos / videos directly from the controller after shooting.
I had some initial problems getting connected and I hope this isn’t indicative of quality control problems cropping up at DJI. After a brief support session (which overall was a very responsive and quick experience) I was connected with the aircraft through the RC. The problem ended up being that the drone itself was 2 firmware versions behind.
Once connected I did a thorough run-through showing you all the major app areas and options.
My initial impression is very positive and I can’t wait to get this outside, in the daylight and see how the whole experience comes together.
