War is expensive but that is no problem for Atlas, the private military company in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Atlas has so much dollar it can afford to splash out on costly and unnecessarily complicated military tech such as variable grenades, magnetic gloves and fancy business cards.
Be careful of some minor campaign spoilers within.
Variable grenades, for instance, contain the technology for three kinds of grenade within a single housing, that you can choose between with the flick of a switch.
This means two thirds of the hardware in each grenade you throw is totally redundant, just to spare you the extra five seconds it would take to select a specific grenade off your belt. Any empty space left in the canister? Just pack it with hundred dollar bills, why not.
Or take Atlas' animated holographic business cards. When you’re the head of the biggest company in existence, command the largest free-standing military in the whole world, and are played by Kevin Spacey, best be sure your business card is literally the fanciest, costliest business card in the world.
