Richard Durand vs. The World EP 3: North America
1. Paul Oakenfold & Richard Durand - Crashed
2. Richard Durand featuring Huge Euge - Signs (Richard Durand vs. The World Collab Mix)
3. Richard Durand featuring Leah - Stand Again
Richard Durand presents the third installment in his Vs. The World project, this time with the winner from the North American leg of the competition: Huge Euge. The EP features the titles "Crashed", "Signs" and "Stand Again" featuring the vocals of the lovely Leah.
The opener of the EP, "Crashed", is a collaboration with the legendary Paul Oakenfold; the man who inspired many of his now fellow DJs like Tiƫsto to pick up the turntables and follow in his footsteps. Here Oakenfold teams op with Richard Durand for "Crashed": an undeniable Durand track, but with the clear 'Oakey' influences taking things up a notch. One that has future classic written all over it.
"Signs", the track that was sent out to the masses for Richard's Vs. The World project this time, comes from American DJ/Producer Huge Euge with a nod and a wink from Durand himself. Huge Euge is an electronic music DJ and Producer hailing from New York City. Within the last 2 years, Huge Euge has skyrocketed from being a virtually unknown DJ to being one of today's hottest rising stars thanks to major support from EDM blogs, as well as playing many large-scale events at NYC venues. He has played alongside some of the biggest names in electronic dance music including opening sets for Robbie Rivera, R3hab, Dirty South, Bassjackers, Tim Mason and others. Today, Huge Euge spends his days producing music, cultivating his personal style and developing his professional sound.
The third and last track of the EP, "Stand Again", features the vocals of Leah. Her voice still sends shivers down the spine of many with her appearance on Andy Duguid classics like "Wasted" and "Don't Belong". On "Stand Again" we hear the other sound of Leah, working her way through Richard Durand's powerful backing track, leaning on a complex arrangement that gives way for a big and harder tech trance sound.
