Like everything Sennheiser these are an excellent (albeit expensive) pair of headphones. The audio quality is superb - even when cancellation is active. Equally nice is the build quality.
Compared to the Bose QuietComfort 35 these have better sound and build quality. But the Bose QC35's do a better job of noise cancellation. I also prefer the QC 35's button-based audio controls to the capacitive pads the PXC550 has on both sides of the unit.
All in these justify the $50 premium price over the Bose model.
