HBX (also known as Haiboxing or Hai Bo Xing) is a Chinese brand with a variety of entry-level trucks, crawlers and buggies in many different scales. They also provide other brands, such as Redcat, with models to be rebranded. The HBX Rocket Buggy was my first "real" hobby-grade model, after returning to the RC world since the 1980s. It handles quite okay, when it works, but the quality of the plastic, lexan, aluminium and electronics are definitely not the most durable. But since it was my first 'hobby-grade' I still run it for purely nostalgic reasons.
Well, it also proved harder than I thought to steer/navigate on a very slippery and icy/frosty mini skate park, hitting the ramps, while at the same time staying out of the camera angle. So my bad steering and the tarmac can also take some of the blame. Nothing serious though, some bend aluminium and broken lexan that can be fixed. And luckily I got some other Rocket Buggies with fresh/unbend/unbroken aluminium and lexan to run. But this Chinese HBX Rocket Buggy will definitely not be jumping and landing on the tarmac again!
