Take Dead Rising 2 follow-up Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, for instance, which reworks Dead Rising 2 with Frank West of Dead Rising 1 fame as the hero instead of motocross champ Chuck Greene.
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record envisages how Chuck would deal with the Dead Rising 2 game over you got if you failed to get Katey her anti-zombifyng meds in time. Spoiler alert: the answer is “not well”.
Chuck is now a wild-eyed maniac in desperate need of both a haircut and to stop carrying around a creepy doll version of his dead daughter, and not in that order.
Naturally, you end up having to battle fallen protagonist Chuck - no small ask, since he’s equipped with his trademark slicycle, a motocross bike with twin chainsaws protruding from the handlebars that's much less fun when you're not the one in the driving seat.
