Bosses are supposed to be difficult, that's the point, but occasionally they break the rules to steal an unfair advantage. Really we should have guessed that these devious bosses from games including Bloodborne, Paper Mario and Tony Hawk's Underground would throw the rulebook out of the window in order to gain an edge over us, the valiant hero.
And yet it makes for no less of a surprise when the tried and tested techniques we'd been using for the rest of the game suddenly fail us in the face of a cheaty boss that cheats, the cheating cheater.
