How to Increase the Volume on Innotab Video Files

Video Channel

This video shows how to increase the volume in your videos. The more tweaking you do to the files, the more complicated it gets, but I've made this video to try and make it easier for more people to understand. The steps in this video assume you already have a video file compatible with the Innotab but when played on the Innotab the maximum volume setting is not loud enough. If you don't have a video already saved, watch my other videos on how to create them. Here are the steps for increasing the volume output:
1. Download and install the xvid codec.
2. Download and unzip Virtual Dub.
3. Copy the video from your Innotab back over to your computer.
4. Open the video file in Virtual Dub
5. Set the video to Direct Stream (we don't want it to change)
6. Set the audio to "Full Processing" mode
7. Increase the volume output by 10db.
8. Save the new .avi file
9. Copy the file back over to your Innotab.
Download Information:
You need to install the "xvid" codec first. The link to the download site is given below. Once you are on that page, click the green circle with the white arrow to start the download. Once it is downloaded, it has to be installed. Just accept all the defaults. This is the codec that lets "Virtual Dub" understand the audio format in the Innotab video files so it can increase the output volume.
After the codec is installed, go here and download the right bit version (32 or 64) depending on you OS bit version. It is a .zip file and just has to be unzipped... not "installed". You have to have the xvid codec installed before running this or it will not be able to understand the audio stream in your Innotab videos.
