We've been hungry for a Mirror's Edge sequel ever since the original whetted our appetite for first-person parkour in a stylish cityscape.
And for a long time it felt like our lavishly hand illustrated fan letters to Mirror's Edge studio DICE were getting lost in the post, because it's been nearly seven years since the first game came out.
Now Faith is back at last and we're getting more Mirror's Edge. Only it's not the straight sequel we expected, but a reboot by the name of Mirror's Edge Catalyst.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst tells the tale of Faith's traumatic past and evolution into a free-running, freedom-fighting courier, which makes it a not-a-sequel in virtue of not being set after the events of the first game.
But Catalyst is also a bigger, open-world affair, and more story-led than game one, in which the storytelling was lighter touch than a ghost pickpocket.
