Scratch-Built Giant RC T-38 Talon (World's Largest EDF) - Best in the West Jet Rally 2017

This past weekend was the Best in the West Jet Rally held at the Buttonwillow airport. Man, what a great time! Kicking off our coverage from the event is my friends awesome scratch-built T-38 Talon. The airplane weighs 45lb and is 12ft long which makes it a little larger than 1/4 scale. Power comes from 2x 120mm E-Turbax Electric Ducted Fans (available from jethangar.com) with each fan powered by 12cells and 8000 mah batteries (5500+ watts per fan). The airplane was built from foam, fiberglass, carbon fiber, balsa and plywood from enlarged 3-view drawings. He won the technical achievement award at the event.
