NVIDIA SHIELD PRICING, RELEASE WINDOW (Escapist News Now)
Officially called just Nvidia Shield, the handheld Tegra 4 powered Android device will be coming to retail in June and available for pre-order on May 20th for $349.99.
They've announced 5 new games including Double Fine's Costume Quest and Broken Age, plus Origins from Steel Wool Games. You'll get Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 and Expendable: Rearmed included when you purchase.
Shield will run Android Jellybean with a 5 inch retina display with up to 720P resolution along with 16 gigs of storage plus an expandable SD card slot. It comes with built in GPS, microphone, and a mini-HDMI out. Of course it has the standard buttons, sticks, and bumpers of most controllers as well.
Probably the biggest selling point of Shield is that it can stream games from your PC, but you have better invested in at least a GTX 650 GPU.
