Bosch GLM 50C (Longer range):
Today I’m looking at the extremely popular Bosch GLM 35 Laser Measure. The GLM 35 is a very capable laser measure with a maximum measurement range of 120ft. The first thing you’ll notice about the Bosch GLM 35 is how compact it is. It measures a little over 4 inches in height, by about an 1 ½ wide by about an inch deep. The Body is made from Bosch’s traditional blue plastic with these black, rubberized strips on the edge to improve its grip. And because of how compact and lightweight it is, it’s actually pretty easy to carry around. The Bosch GLM 35’s screen is pretty sharp and clear and even works well in the dark or in low light, thanks to its backlight. All controls on the little Bosch GLM 35 are through the 5 buttons on the front and making measurements is pretty simple. Turn on the device using the power button on the bottom and the laser dot immediately appears and realtime measurements can be seen on the screen. When you’re ready to measure the distance to a specific point, hit the red button on top and the measurement is recorded and appears on screen. To keep measuring, hit the red button again and the laser dot appears again. To record the measurement, hit the red button once more. And each time you take a reading, the last two measurements scroll up, while the current measurement stays on the bottom. And like other laser measures in this price range, the Bosch packs a whole host of really useful features like being able to quickly calculate the area and volume of a room. It can also calculate the height of a triangle through two simple measurements. You can also add or subtract two measurements using the plus and minus buttons on the front. And even once you’ve taken a measurement, you can convert it to any unit you want- imperial or metric. Now the Bosch GLM 35 does come with two unbranded AAA batteries. However, for the sake of better accuracy, I recommend swapping them out for branded duracells or energizers. I am using duracell procells in mine and I’ll leave a link to those below.
