Resident Evil HD Remastered Makes this 12-Year-Old Game Look Like New

When the Gamecube remake of Resident Evil came out, it was the best looking videogame I’d ever seen. Now it’s getting an HD remastered version for Xbox One, so how does a 12 year old horror game stack up against its current gen peers? Surprisingly well, it turns out as you'll see in this 1080p gameplay.
Admittedly, the reason it looks so good is partly to do with how dark everything is and how the backgrounds are pre-rendered. Both are flattering to the game’s upscaled graphics, but also help add to the creeping sense of dread that permeates the game’s spooky mansion setting.
Resident Evil HD Remastered is due out as a download in early 2015.
