Looks like there will be a lot more Batman than Superman in next year’s Batman v Superman and we’ve got the details right now on Clevver Newsfeed. Director Zack Snyder is sharing some new details about next year’s Batman v Superman including how much of each character we’ll actually see. While announcing a partnership with Doritos for this year’s “Crash the Super Bowl” campaign that will see one lucky winner getting a chance to work with Zack Snyder on an upcoming DC film, the director shared some new details about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice including confirming a recent rumor that we’ll be seeing a lot more Batman than Superman in the film. Speaking with The Daily Beast, Snyder explained that, because we’re getting a Batman we’ve never seen before that will be different from the one we saw in the Nolan films and the fact that we just had a Superman movie, the movie will focus more on Batman as they will have more to explain about him than Superman. He did say this will mostly affect the first part of the movie and things will even out toward the end. In addition to Batman and Superman, we’ll also be introduced to other DC heroes like Wonder Woman, Aquaman and The Flash. For those of you concerned that this could result in superhero overkill, Snyder told Yahoo Movies that there’s something really fun about bringing these characters into the Cinematic Universe, but the film will stay central to the core of the mythology which is what he thinks audience enjoy most. As for that recent rumor that his son, Eli, would be playing “Robin” in the film, Snyder said that rumor was completely false. Of course, Snyder couldn’t resist taking a jab at rival Marvel calling DC’s heroes more “epic”, particularly Batman and Superman calling them the “most mythological of our superheroes.” He also commented on Steve Spielberg’s recent prediction that superhero movies will one day no longer be as popular as they are now and will go the way of the western to which Snyder agrees, but thinks Batman and Superman are the exception saying quote, “It goes to the mythological nature of the movies that we’re making. I feel like he’s right, but I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they’re Batman and Superman. They’re not just, like, the flavor of the week Ant-Man—not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?” We’re guessing he’s probably not referring to the 1994 Damon Wayans movie, but what do you think? Are you glad Batman v Superman will focus more on Batman and do you think Batman and Superman transcend superhero movies?
