Just a nostalgic look at the hobby some 35 years ago through the pages of a very popular UK magazine, Radio Controlled Models and Electronics (RCM&E as it was known). No electric motors, no computer radios, no flight controllers and no FPV. How did we cope?
Helicopters and 4-stroke nitro motors were the big things back then and there was no sign of China at all in the hobby. Micro RC gear was anything-but and the closest thing to FPV was using an old film-based camera to grab snapshots from the air.
