Located within the Los Glaciares National Park, Viedma Glacier is the largest in Argentina. The Upsala used to be held as the largest one but recent measurements have proved this belief wrong: the Viedma Glacier has an area of 380 square miles.
It flows directly from the South Patagonic Ice Field to the Viedma Lake. Its front rises about 130 ft above the level of the Lake. Its origin can be located in the very heart of the Ice Field between 5,000 and 7,000 ft above sea level.
